Today my good friend Lance Ward bestowed an awesome gift on to me. It was a sketchbook filled with awesome doodley goodness. And there was a Mysterio or two painted/drawn inside! Here is one of those pieces.

I found this cool Spider-Man pop-up book at a used book store yesterday.
The first couple of spreads told of Spidey’s origin and the following pages
featured a different villain per spread. Guess who was at the very end?
Yup, fish-bowl face! Saved the best for last!

WHO, OR WHAT IS HE?

In the early 90′s I used to collect the Marvel Universe Trading Cards. They exposed me to so many new Marvel characters that I never really knew much about. I recognized Mysterio, but didn’t know much about him.

I thought his origin, cool gizmos and outfit made him pretty rad. I hardly say rad, but yup, rad. Well, I haven’t been collecting anything comic-book/superhero related for about 15 years, until recently. Now I’m back, and boy do I have a library of items to get going on. However, I am slightly obsessed with anything having to do with Mysterio.

So, this blog will be a collection of all things having to do with the special effects wizard, bad guy and all-around dome-head! Random images, artists sketches (my own or found) and reviews of sporadic comics featuring fishbowl-head himself! Please keep checking back as I “plan” on updating this as often as possible.

Make Mine Marvel! (Except for Martian Manhunter — he’s pretty awesome! But that has a lot of M’s too, so that’s okay, right?)
